Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia. It consists of over 17,000 islands. Around 40% of the population lives in poverty. The government doesn’t usually persecute Christians, they don’t defend them either.
There are around 787 people groups of those 241 are unreached. There is approximately a population of 276,050,000, of those, 70.4% are unreached.
The largest religion is Islam (83.6%). Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world (with more than 220 million Muslims, 13% of the world's Muslim population.)There is around 11.27% of Christians.
Many Indonesian Muslims practice animistic versions of Islam. However, Islamic extremism encourage and engage in violence against Christians. Some of these violent attacks have led some Muslims to question Islam and be open to the Gospel.
