LAOS

Laos is a Southeast Asian country. It is one of East Asia’s poorest countries. The literacy rate is 85%. The Communist government, as well as, the Buddhist monks persecute Christians. (Expect for the government-controlled Lao Evangelical Church.)

It ranks 26th in the persecution ranking. It’s in the 10/40. The annual Evangelical growth rate is 6.8%. 60% of Laotians consider themselves Buddhists (many mix Buddhism and tribal animism). Most Christians are persecuted by family members or village authorities.
